Kristin Markel, AGACNP-BC, AOCNP is our nurse practitioner. She is a life-long resident of Council Bluffs graduating from St. Albert in 2003. She first found her love of nursing working as a Candy Striper at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in high school. After graduation, she attended the University of Iowa for one year then transferred to Nebraska Methodist College to finish her nursing degree in 2007.

After graduation, she worked as a nurse on the Oncology Medical Surgical unit at Methodist Hospital for eight years along with two years spent working as a care manager for five different surgery groups.

In 2015, she graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center with her Master’s degree as an Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.

She is married with two young children that attend Lewis Central Schools and is a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of Council Bluffs.
